On-State and Off-State S-Parameter Offline Mode (formerly Demo Mode)

The host PC does not need to be connected to any test equipment hardware to run the demonstration plots (Offline Mode). The Offline Mode provides sample characterization plots of FET and IGBT devices and a test result (*.mdm) file.

Even though actual hardware does not need to be connected to the host PC to run the Offline Modes, you must still provide VISA addresses and test parameter data in the setup and configuration fields. For information on obtaining the VISA addresses, use the IO Libraries Suite. See the PD1000AStartup Guide for more information.

S-Parameter Offline Demo

  1. To run the PD1000A S-parameter demonstrations, select either the OFF-State S-Parameter Measurement Control or ON-State S-Parameter Measurement Control.

  2. Check the Offline Mode checkbox on the display screen.

  3. Select Frequency Sweep - either Linear or Logarithmic.
  4. Click the button at the bottom of the screen. Just like an actual test, the system displays the calibration screen and prompts you to calibrate the network analyzer.

  5. Click the Continue button to begin the test. (For the demonstration, you do not need to calibrate the analyzer.) The simulated test runs and displays a representative data plot in the data area:
